Hey guys, not sure if this has been covered here, but recently Quebec has banned new RHD cars from being registered. you may not think this affects you, but it does. the same people who are trying to impose a ban on RHD don't care for modified vehicules whatsoever.

Yea it's only for the next 6 months to give them time to review the whole law..... But it will not effect me since I don't drive a JDM car nor do I wan't to! LHD FTMFW!
They already tried the modification thing... it was to broad of a law with to many grey areas, so it was scrapped.

My family settled here in 1643 in lower Canada but Hey who am I to judge. Queerbec sucks and we all know even Manitoba can fell the breeze. I won't drive in that province if I don't have to. So basicallly Fu*k their JDM laws.

Sounds about as retarded as Virginia's law about exhaust systems...if it's any louder than the stock exhaust, then it's illegal, regardless of the Db levels. Just another excuse for the doughnut eaters to pull over modded cars whenever they feel like it. I've been pulled over 6 times within 3 months time there, yet all the Rednecks in their Rock Climbin/mud slingin 4x4's with cat deletes and cherry bomb dual exhaust, blow out your ear drums exhaust systems are never bothered...well that's three places i wont move to, (quebec, Virginia, and Cali)

Oh ya, I know all too well on how much they like modded cars. I did get pulled over for my exhaust but he appologized since he thought I was from VA and let me go. I got another 3 serious + 1 (yet bogus) tickets from another cop, had to go to court for them, but the evil look on his face was pricess (yet scary) on how pissed he was, but I got off all all of them, and my car never set foot in VA after that.

I've never had a problem, except the one stupid ticket I got for 'speeding' although its one of those things that EVERYONE does. Just happened to pick on me.

I've also heard of one of my teachers speed shadowing an old rusty 4x4 in her mustand down the #1 and the cop picking on her instead of the truck.


Its just silly. I want to move to Europe, they seem to make more sense overall.

I don't know about the rest of Europe, but as for Germany, good luck getting the TUV to inspect your vehicle...none of my three would ever pass. Good thing I only gotta get it inspected by USAREUR/USAFE...they're still bastards, but a little easier when it comes to mods. I know TUV won't pass it if it has a non-stock spoiler, certain headers, not to mention a slew of other mods...bastards.

This isn't really about whether or not you like or will ever drive a RHD Car, Or about what you think of quebec. i personally couldn't care less about what you think about either of these things, this is more a matter of principle.the rights of many Canadian citizens has been compromised by a public body.

this Ban is a ministers order (Quebec Minister of transport). that means it is a law passed without the legislative process and without any prior notice to Importers, and individuals waiting on their cars to arrive in Canada.. it is a sneaky underhanded way of inventing a law...and in my eyes it goes against everything i thought this country was about. the democratic process has been eliminated from this issue which effects thousands of Canadian citizens. i mean the only other country that has a problem with the RHD cars is Kazakstan , their reason being protection of their local car dealers...

So should Canada Follow the rest of the modern worlds lead and allow RHD and LHD Cars share the road?(England, Most of Europe, Japan Ect) or should we adopt Kazakstans style of politics???

If this has happened in quebec without major resistance, who is to say they won't try to do something similar in Other provinces??
