Oil pan Question.....

I couldnt remember is our oil pan alum. or steel?

See is a refridgerator magnet (or any magnet for that matter) will stick to it. I'm pretty sure it's steel but def not aluminum. It'd be too soft of a metal being so close to the road. If it were aluminum, one scrape and you'd leave a lot of your pan on the road.

I think its some sort of brassmetal. When I was sanding it down to weld, it was a brass material. They had to use special weld to get the bung in there.
My magnetic oil pan plug sticks to it tho.

It rusts, so I would say steel
