1995 Mazda MX-3 with B6-DE mated to Auto tranny. Belts have been replaced, timing belt replaced as well, however the car is still squelching at start up. Car wasnt doing it before Mazda replaced the serpentine belts (all 3 of them...) could they have overtightened the tensioner? Is this something I can adjust myself?

I had this problem for a long time with the alternator belt on my RS. I found that the only belt that didn't sqeal was the factory one. If they put factory belts on and they're still sqealing I would say it's loose.

Here:

Loosen the bold on your alty so it swings free.

Get a 3-4' prybar. Fit it between the alternator and the block and lean on that baby. With your free hand, tighten the alty bolt while bouncing on that prybar.

Fixed. Its a car, not a doll house. Gotta show it who is boss

i saw my automotive teacher do this the other day and the belt stopped squealing. if the problem isnt that the belt is too loose, and it just squeals, take an metal bristle brush and while the belts are turning, touch the metal bristles to the belt and just let it rub it a little, do this to all the sides. the squeals will quiet themselves and then stop. it was pretty cool

that would work too. I'd think after squealing a bit, it would get polished.

Unless you have a rusty crank pully like mine (engine sat for awhile) then it texturized itself
