If the injectors are from a 90-94 mazda protege yes it will work without any CEL issues on the SOHC MX-3. If u use a the injectors from a 94-96 mazda MX-3 1.6 DOHC MX-3 than no it will not work with yours sohc. It will run like shyt i know i did that years ago in my sohc.

:2thumbsup:
but it is not a good idea to use other than the injectors made for the specific motor

even if you do a full overhaul to make it be able to take the beating

larger than stock injectors give you more fuel... more fuel causes your engine to run rich. Running rich causes a large loss in power. You stock injectors are capable of fueling a fair amount over stock HP. Without the proper electronic fuel management you will just be slowing your car down.

i know that but dont you need to change the injectors if you run a boost of some kind?

maybe. I don't recall reading anything on this thread about boost tho.
Go to RC eng to see their injector guide. And don't you have a SOHC? There is no cheap or easy way to boost that engine.

thanks for then help but can i ask another question about dohc Fuel Injector in a sohc

i have a adjustable fuel pressure regulator would that help me with adjusting how much fuel goes thru the injector? and would that not make the injectors last longer?

ya, and no
you can adjust the pressure to the injectors, but that won't exactly help you. No, I can't see how the injectors could last longer that way. Normally the 10 or so years they last should be good enough.

Think of an injector as an electric stepper motor thats uses fuel to cool it.
I would just find some sohc injectors, if you plan on boosting it with someway to control the fuel then by all means get some bigger injectors.

You could use a adj fpr to adjust for the larger injectors, but you would either need a wideband or a hell of a lot of patience reading plugs.
