Felt like in neutral when in drive

I put 10w30 oil in the car this morning which is what the manual reccomends. I have no idea what oil it had in it prior to me owning it..When I went to work around 11 a.m I had no problems what so ever. When I left work around 8p.m..it did not want to drive after I reversed and went to drive,it felt like I was in neutral pressing on the gas but I was in drive. It stuggled BIGTIME for a few mins then sporatically on the drive home. Could this be because of the new oil,and maybe the car was coolish when I left work? This is a first for me.
Thanks
T

the atx transmission bites again!

the auto trans for these cars are fairly garbage, try putting it in low gear and see if it pops in next time it does this.

Yeah checked fluid and it was fine,I put a tiny bit in anyways,it still acts up. In reverse,it still feels like it is in neutral.

check your atx fluid, if it is a dirty brown and smells burnt its most likly your clutch bands in your trans are burnt out. another auto trans in the history books.

Try just draining the old fluid and putting in some fresh stuff?
