engine weight

i was wondering what the weight of all the engines where i have looked but could not find anything on just the engine thanks

I believe it says in the owners manual, usually found in the glove box compartment.


If you'd like, I could pick up my SOHC and stand on the kitchen scale, and take off 156 pounds for you.

some people want to know for instance how much does a MX-3 way

again no year or model but they want to know...


why would one care one may want to know...

Well that I could imagine. HP/Weight ratio is a good ballpark on who might win a race.

That info is also available in the owners manual.

while i can't say exact weights i do know that the v6 engines weigh more than the 4 cyl engines and from there the bp is more than the b8 which is more than the b6 dohc which i think is more than the b6 sohc

Weights from heaviest to lightest:
KL
K8
BP
B8
B6 (Dohc)
B6 (Sohc)

having picked up both a SOHC and BP, I can verify that the BP is about 100 lbs heavier than the SOHC. SOHC I could do on my own if I could find handles.
