mx-3 must go, or stay.......

Post by colinf004 »

I am stuck in a Rut ! I don't want to sell my mx-3 because I love it that much... but it needs a new engine and tranny, Body needs to be done, new paint job, and the interior needs to be cleaned up, new tires and rims, is it really worth doing all this work....... hhmmmmmmm maybe I might sell everything as is, I just don't have the time, maybe I might look for another (cleaner) car with not so much rust..

any thoughts....

if you really love a car money should not be stopping you from keeping it.

meh you just need to decide where you priorities are and do what's best for you... but I will say everyone I know that has sold their mx-3 has semi regretted it... it's tough... the cars are so loveable (and fast)

some people make fun of my mx-3, it purple, needs paint job, "tiny", "geo metro" etc.
I don't give a crap about those idiots. It's paid off, gets great gas mileage (for a k8), handles awesome, I just love it. If something breaks I just fix it and it will last me at least another 16 years (its 16 year old car) by that time it will be classic and I'll be laughing at people who laughed at me. They will be driving those homosexual one-man(queer) electric scooters as I pass them in my classic

I say get rid of the current MX3 and go find a clean one instead of dropping all that money. I've been through it with MX3s time and time again and when I think back about how much money I wasted it makes me feel like a sucker inside.

thanks for the input, I do love the car (very fast), and it is a 16 year old car... at this point of my life I have to see it go... maybe in the future I might buy another one.

Usually that doesn't happen. That's what guys said when they sold their original Daytona's, hemi Cuda's, other rare cars. Look at them now, they all kick themselves in the a-- for doing it.

Ya, I know how you feel. My car's underbody needs work, it's probably fixable, but probably more than it's worth, I've got a broken motor and trans, my 2 rims are badly scratched thanks to uneven pavement and I've had the car for 7 years. I was thinking of maybe getting something else, but not only do I not know what I'd get, maybe an STI, a Speed3 or an Rx-7, i dont know, but I'm still not done with the Mx-3...so many idea left, I'll more likely stick with it and hopefully look and find a mint body Mx-3 to move everything over to.

just buy another mint mx3... its hard to find these days especially in canada... my mx3 blew another ZE and the body was really rusty so instead of dropping a new engine in a bad car i just went out to find a mint cat in which i ended up with a 323... so now ze is going into good body 323

Should it stay or should it go...

If it stays it will be trouble~~~~~
If it goes it will be double~~~

All I have to say on the topic.
