18 Inch Wheels should I do it. WITH PICS

I'm getting some real nice 18" wheels and I need some opinions. In order for them to look right I'll need to install real low profile tires. Can I hear the pros and cons on this so I can make an informed decision whether to go ahead with this. Thanks

I'll get some pics of the wheels too as I know you guys love pics. :)

15 inch 5 bolts wheels on my MX6, not universal fit.

Ok I thought these were interchangeable but they're not. The 4 bolt seems to have two different 4 bolt sizes and the 5 bolt on my MX6 are simply able to fit two different sized 5 bolt patterns.

General opinion here is don't do it....

I'm on my second set of 18" now and it's great, even with a 35mm drop. So my opinion - DO IT :D

Pro
- It looks f*king awesom !!

Con
- You're a bit slower due to more weight and a larger diameter

Conclusion
You drive a ZE, just go for the 18"

Well considering you will have to go with 35 series tires to clear the strut mount..... DO NOT drive past Bowmanville... as everything else west... has pot holes that will bend your rim sooo fast..... a guy I know just got new 20's on his truck hit a pot hole and broke the rim right in half in Oshawa.
Our roads in Ontario are just not made for it!

Not to mention it may be hard on your back old man! eheheh

they are far too large.

i dont know where this low profile tires are better thing came from? look at nascar or formula one. those tires have a massive profile.

plus the price of replacing those tires. you might put them on and get a nail in the sidewall and be screwed out of 270 bucks just like that. with my 15's i just bought tires for 109 a piece and that was even expensive ish.

Dont get 18's

I just switched back to my 15s as I cannot handle my riding on my 17s anymore.

Gonna go 16's this year for sure

No no! Don't go 18's, they make you look like some ricer, because everyone knows they are all show and no go! Not to mention, driving with such a low profile tire will surely mean bent or cracked rims in no time.

Not worth the hassle!

Yeah, 18 no good. 17 is as large I'd go.

Bent/broken rims. Heavy, more brutal on suspension and brakes. Rough ride.

Unless it's a strictly show car, then you can go any size you want.

Thats cause you have never driven in Ontario... the land of pot holes that can eat a small car.... :crying:
