Just in the middle of doing my CV joints on my mx-3. On the front passenger side, the CV joint is totally out but there is a tiny bit of play in the hub. The car wasn't making any unusual noises before i started changing the CV joints, just wondering if its normal to have a bit of play in the bearing of it will need changing?

cheers for any responses,

Sam.

No play as far as I know. New bearing is $60 at Dealershit plus you need to have it pressed in. If you have both sides apart it's a good time to replace them both.

Basically, just go to any machine shop and they can press it in for you. You can either get a wheel bearing from autozone/any parts store($30). Then you would have to find the hub also. Most of the time if you are running the car on a loose wheel bearing then the hub will be wore down to. A machine shop will not press a bearing unless the hub is correct size/not to worn to be pressed.

Garages usually have a press as well. Much cheaper if you bring in the hub/strut off the car.
