Car won't move

Question for all MX3 experts.

I have a 6 cyl 94 mx3 with Automatic Transmission. One day I got home, parked the car and the next day starts but won't move no matter if you put it on D N R 1 or 2. It won't move at all. Here are some of the symptoms.

1) When I move the car from P to D the engine sound as if it went into gear. (the sound of the engine goes down).
2) When the car is in neutral it will not move at all either.
3) Transmission fluid level is fine and color is pink and clear how it should be.

I do not know absolutely anything about transmissions. Could this be the transmission???? If the transmission is damaged shouldn't the car still move when put into neutral?

Please help me, I really need the car. :?

Jack the car and spin each wheel to insure your brakes are releasing. Make sure you chock the wheels so the car dosen't roll off your jack.

My 4-cyl does the same thing. I just have to turn the car on and off until it wants to go into gear.

Maybe your parking brake is seized closed.
