yah, that is a good engine, lil pricey tho. but if u want a fast 4 banger turb mx3 go for it, ive seen ones with 300+ hp. Also when looking for parts for the BPT motor you have to look at the Mazda 323 GTX performance parts, few other cars that had the BPT motor,
1989-1994 Mazda Familia GT-X (Japan)
1992-1993 (BPD) Mazda Familia GT-R / GTAe (Japan)
1989-1994 Ford Laser TX3 turbo (Australia)
Ford Laser GT-X
hard motor to find, and if somone has a goood one its probly gona be atleast $2000 for engine + trans. also idk if its direct swap or not, im pretty sure the mounts are different

And if u cant find the 1.8 bpt turbo which is VERY hard to find, i know they made a 1.6 bpt you could look for
B6T
1.6 L (1597 cc, 97 cu in) B6T - (78x83.6 mm) - The ubiquitous turbocharged, fuel-injected and intercooled 16-valve DOHC B6, released in 1985 and used in numerous models worldwide including the 323 GT-X, 1985-1989 Mazda Familia GT-X/GT/Infini, 1985-1989 Ford Laser TX3 turbo, and later Mercury Capri's. This engine was most commonly found mated to a 4WD drivetrain although FWD models were also available. Power and torque outputs varied across markets due to emission and fuel standards, but the Japanese version of the B6T was the most powerful, producing 147 hp (110 kW) and 137 ft·lbf (186 N·m)
would be a fun engine to put in a MX-3, GOODlUCK!!!

Also you could just swap in a naturally aspirated BP from a protege LX or GT, Escort GT, Escort LX-E an the Tracer LTS. They are pretty cheap and easy to find, and then the turbo stuff bolts on later!

+1 for the BPDE swap first then turbo later. Easy and cheap first step.
