Reverse lights

Post by dclxvi »

Since I bought my car the back up haven't been working. Bulbs are fine. Short of broken wires what else could this be?

Am I dumb? Or are you dumb? PM Mad Cow. He recently found out where his reverse switch is and how to know if its working or not.

Its beneath the gearbox, and when you put the car into reverse, the switch is switched, operating the reverse light relay.... Of course, if this switch is broken, your relay will never be activated and your reverse lights will not come on, even if the bulbs are fuse are good.

Following me?

Following as in you posed after two of my posts.. And I noticed you were looking at the FS item I just posted. Literally meant I don't know how I could have missed such an obvious answer.

Yea it's a round switch on the bottom of the tranny, 2 wires coming out of it. Apparently those wires tend to break, in my case they were completely cut off and I couldn't find the part of the harness that connects to them. :?
