Hi. So I waited awhile but I had my axles replaced. Right after I would hear a clunking/popping sound from the front passenger side when I turned left or went over bumps. Then a grinding noise would come when I would be driving straight or turning and was in the same area of the car. The grinding got more frequent so I took it in. Had shocks, mounts of some sort and boot kits replaced. Got car back today it grinded once for 5 seconds when I turned left and popped a few times when turning left, WHat could possibly be wrong now???!!! Please help me I am so very frustrated with this car right now. :crying:

Common things...

Bent sheild of some sort rubbing against something.
Wrong size axles.

Sounds like they popped an axle out to replace a boot and didnt snap it back into place. You are hearing it pop in and out of the transmission maybe?

There are about 5 different axle variations for our cars based on engine size, MTX vs. ATX, ABS or no ABS. It is certainly possible that they installed the wrong one. What you describe sounds a lot like a CV joint under pressure...like the shaft is too long.

Check this out...it could confuse anybody.

abs and w/o abs is the same axel, just without the ring.

You can hammer off the abs ring if you have an abs axel... so it's a LITTLE less confusing.

maybe a carrier bearing on the halfshaft?
