Hey everyone,
I just bought a bp 1.8 dohc. It is out of a 93 ford escort GT. Therefore it has the ford logo on the valve cover. Does anyone know if i can get one that says mazda instead? I would greatly appreciate it, thanks

as long as it has the BP motor, nope. A BP is a BP.

Wiki will tell you what uses the BP, if you search 'Mazda B engine'

I went down to the good ol junkyard today and found some proteges, but the valve covers didn't look the same as my ford one. The mazda ones seem to go out over the timing belt, where the for one doesnt. Do any proteges have the same style valve cover as the ford escort? I don;t like the looks of the protege one but i do want mazda instead of ford.

if the engine is a BP (BP05, or something to that effect on the tranny side of block) It will fit. Wikipedia will tell you exactly which models had it. Lots of protege's used B6's, some used B8's.
