Sticky Shift Lever

Post by jkbreazeale »

My fiance owns a 1995 MX-3 1.6L with a Automatic Tranny. Every now and then, the transmission lever is very hard to get into a selected gear no matter what gear you want it to go into, from Park to Reverse, Park to Drive... and vise versa.

What can I do.. hearing the nag na nag nag nag nag of her has got to go :D

Eek! automatic!

I hate to tell you, but thats a suckish thing. No one really knows about them on here as everyone swaps them out because they have such a tendancy to suck. (Hold light of doom, no zoom zoom, or just plain old breaking)

If you can take it off the road for a few days, and have a few hours, a manual swap is moderately easy with the right tools. Also, if your wife can drive a stick.

You'd be hard pressed to find a replacement transmission.

There's no easy answer, and I, for one, have no idea what the problem may be. I just know everyone takes them out ASAP.
