My little green light above the keyhole in my ignition only comes on once in a blue moon i was wondering if there is something that might trigger it?

Mine seems to come on randomly.... as soon as I open the door, after I close it, while I'm driving sometimes.... but its always off when I approach for the first time in a day, or after a long period of time...

i thought opening my door would turn it on but it dosent, i tried with both doors. its really annoying at night trying to find the hole, tee hee

When you open you doors:


There is small button. In drivers side too. When you open door, green ligth turns ON. When you close door, green light lights about one minute and then turns OFF. This is useful at night.

I hade a problem when my light not turns on when i open drivers door, with passingers door was ok. So i repaired that small button and now all work just fine.

That would explain my odd issues. I have that button half removed, so it doesn't beep when the door is open and the key in the ignition. I'm working on wiring a switch into that.
