No Spark and No Start

Post by Gunner202 »

My 94 GS wasn't starting due to lack of spark. Checked everything I could think of and decided it sounded like a distributer problem so I decided to do a HEI mod with ext coil. After performing the mod I'm still not getting any spark and the car still won't start. Any ideas would be great....

Check grounds
Check for power going into distributor
Check disty wires
Check your HEI/Ext. Coil mod wires.

That's all I can think of.

Was the motor swapped or anything? Was the timing redone anytime recent? Might try a different ecu, maybe the ecu is shot.

Thanks for the replys and to anwser your questions I don't believe the motor has been swapped. I believe it's the original 1.8. Any ideas how to get my hands on a new ecu?

pull the coil wire out of the dist., insert a screwdriver , hold screwdriver next to a piece of grounded metal , have someone crank the engine , are you getting a spark ??
