STUMPED, weird clunking in front end?

going up short steep driveways on a 45degree angle i get a loud clunk noise. wheel bearing was also whirring a little. throw it on the hoist, shake it down. passenger side all new steering components = very tight

, driver side a bit of play from the wheel bearing, everything else is tight.
r/r wheel bearing put back together, every bolt tight. still clunking going into the steep tim hortons drive thru!?!?!, back on the hoist it goes i check my stab links for play, all is well.
what else can make that clunk?
i would describe the clunk as if something is stressing and then finally letting go.
thanks.

I have the same issue and I believe it to be my struts or strut bearings...

Mooneggs, did you mean strut (top) mount? I just changed mine, it would bang/rattle any time I hit a bump on the road Anyone check their lower control arm, if the bushings are worn you can get a banging sound. Finally I've broke my stab bars and that only made a noise when going up side walks etc.

maybe it's the strut mounts too but I know that my upper strut mount bearing were destroyed on the other car and it helped when I got new ones...

Thanks Nd4SpdSe, that explains why my body goes clunk so much.

Could be. I know mine I could make it clunk just by pushing down on the corner farily hard and quick.

well its defianetly not strut related, i did all that when i lowered it. tie rods ball joints struts, strut plates springs, everything...... except lower control arm bushings like daninski said. good call im pretty sure your right.

defianetly not.
i realised my battery looked kinda crooked and noticed that it wasnt actually mounted down at all anymore. maybe that is the thud sound i get from sharp lateral movements. no time today to check out lower control arm bushings but defianetly the number one thing on my list to do.
