My engine is making some really messed up sounds and its time to swap er out i think. But instead of getting another 1.8L i was wondering if this 2.0L would be compatible with everything thats in there stock right now for a straight engine swap with not to much hassle.
please help, thanks.

I'm not entirely sure on this, but I think the KF was found in Asian mx-3's? I'm not sure if it would be worth it though. IIRC, the KF has even more problems than the K8. I don't see why it wouldn't work though.

what would be the best engine for my car then?
not taking price into consideration but still being realistic.

The 2.5L klde and klze will both bold up into the car. There is plenty of info on those swaps on here. They are relatively cheap and easy to do. You could probably do a klde swap for about $500? That's replacing things too. ZE would be about $1k or more, depending on the price of the engine.

If you have an auto transmission, then go with a direct replacement (K8 or KF). The auto trannies are weak and won't withstand alot of power. They barely handle stock...

Stock HP: 130 ish
klde: 160 ish?
klze: around 200

Its just pretty much a direct change out on these engines.

Unless you know exactly what your after, are very shrewd and watch them at every step stay the hell away from TigerJapanese. They broke my engine block and didn't tell me. I rechecked the engine once they put it in my truck and found the corner of the block broken. Their mechanic made no attempt to hide the fact he knew he just said, Hey mon it doesn't matter. They didn't want to refund my money till I said they could keep a deposit. They're Afganistani and here we are over there helping their country and they're here screwing people over. SCREW TIGERJAPANESE! IMO Anyway get a KLZE, there are lots of places to get them. Do you live inToronto?

The K8 (1.8), KF (2.0) and KL (2.5) are all interchangable.

However anyone who has tried a KF swap has failed. No one has able to get it to run right.

Can you get a video of the sound? Your HLA's could just be clogged up, unless you notice a performance loss besides just the sound, or you want to do a swap anyway.

I'm planning on just doing the klze swap with my car. The thing is i don't know if the stock parts in my car is going te be able to handle that amount of power without messing more things up. and with the klze, is it a direct swap in and out of the car? or would i need to buy the klze tranny for it also?

If you have a 5 speed stick, it will handle the power as long as you didn't have tranny issues. You NEED a new clutch, stronger than stock, and you need to get a curve neck manifold, reroute some lines and whatnot. Swap over anything from the K8 that you need to (might need to swap power steering pumps, and whatnot, there are a few versions of the ZE) and swap any pulleys that look better from the k8.
