Burn out Bragging Rights

Post by Daninski »

OK I wanted to hear about other burnout stories, here's mine. When I was younger I put a V8 into a 65 Econoline pickup. With the new clutch and my fat tires it burned rubber pretty good so I let it go in a Macdonalds parking lot and smoked the whole place out. Afterwards I found two holes about 1/2 inch into the asphalt from my burnout. Next day my buddy said he could out do me sooooo I opened the doors one one side of Macdonalds another guy opened the doors on the other side of the building so we got a little draft going and my buddy pulled his 1970 340 Dart Swinger up to the door and did a massive burnout that filled the resturant with smoke. Fire Trucks came, police and the Patrons came out coughing and chocking. I thought it was the best thing we'd ever done, glorious. I loved being young and stupid. Next,,,,

Cops back in the day were cool though. Most weren't uptight a**holes pulling you over and giving you a ticket because you "looked" like you were up to no good. Daniski is from the muscle car era, anything went. :D

Old people always have the best stories  Haha.

I got two....both ended badly...

I was cruising down "McHenry" avenue in downtown Modesto california in my lifted 77 Jeep CJ5 with a buddy of mine. We came up on a crowd of guys looking at a beautiful 70's cuda. We pulled over and were chatting with the guy in the cuda....He burned out and took off. I decided to follow.....Now mind you I had 35x12.5 BFG mud terrains...I revved up and let the clutch out...RR RR RR BOOM driveshaft split in half and I rolled to a stop...

In the MX3 I was in the taco bell drive thru. pulled up to get my food and I asked for some mild sauce and the lady said...we are out of sauce...How about ketchup? I was a bit pissed and revved up the motor and dumped it...again. rrrrrrrrrrr BOOM.... split the passenger half shaft clean in two...had to call my dad to tow my car home... :(

Great story, axels I know all too well about. I went through 3rear ends, two trannies and 15 yes 15 drive shafts in my Econoline. I sent one across the street and it almost took out a bank window but hey. I beat the guy in the hole shot so F**k them. After my buddies burnout I bought a 69 balanced and blue printed 340 Dart Swinger, 456 gears in the rear end. Hey I don't want to show my age but high test gas was 58c a GALLON then and that's a Canadian gallon 4.5 liters not the chinzy Yankee gallon. We would leave our cars idleing with never a care of fuel prices, global warming or anything. Ignorance was bliss.

OK... When I bought my MX-3, the tires were old and the rubber was hardened and cracking.

I bought new tires from tirerack. I had them stuffed in the front seat and the hatch.
At a stop light, someone to the right was staring at me and my car with tires in it. I looked at him, looked at the tires, and gave a little shrug.

Then I dropped the weak clutch in my little 1.6l beast, and the tires squealed a little.

The end.

DON'T TELL ME MY STORY SUCKED!

It was FREAKIN' AMAZING... okay?

Continually sets his standards low and still fails to achieve them. This is the Burnout forum not the "My tires sound like a chirping budge" forum but I guess your entitled to embarrass yourself if you want to.

the first time i ever drove my monte carlo, i coasted out of the driveway, put it in drive, and tried to press the gas pedal,,it was stuck, so i stomped on it, wound up smokin the tires and leavin a patch the length of 4 houses..only spun the tires once in the mx3, and it was rainin..the combination of sticky tires and 1.8 dont make for a tire burner
