All you have to do is put your max bid. If it's over bidded, it's at a price you didn't want to pay. If you win, you got it at a price you were willing to pay. win/win situation. There are people that don't want to pay all the extra fees that Ebay charges. If it's true, they will get caught eventually.

I used to work for eBay and the likely hood of someone bidding on their own items (shill bidding) is VERY low. eBay has remarkable tracing systems that use everything for IP to credit card information to make sure this is not possible. If you believe that this is fraud then please report the item to eBay.

I've seen where the same person has 2 or 3 of the same items being bid on and surprise surprise the highest bid on all of them is the same. They can't tell me that SOB isn't bidding on his own stuff or having a friend do it. I always message the Seller and question it.
