So anyways, bought a mx3. Picked up some 18's with 225/40 tires. Was just curious if 18's will fit on the mx3 without clearence or rubbing? I have searched but have found nothing.

Wow, sounds heavy. I've got 17's 215/40's. They fit fine. I do notice the extra wieght tho. The 18's should fit... pending on offset. If I were to do it over again I would go 16's. Maybe enkei rp01's or something light.

We've got members running everything from 14's - 18's and I don't think I've read about anyone having clearance issues. It will hurt your turnin radius a tad and you may feel more feedback at the wheel, but overall it should be fine.

I hope you've got some good struts and maybe lowering springs. She will be riding pretty high.

Well the car needs brakes done. So right now its just parked, but i got some rims for a good price so i said what the hell. But yeah i know its going to look like a f---ing 4x4 lol. But once i get the brakes done then ill be lowering it for sure. So right now i wont be driving it other then down the street to see how it feels with the rims. I havnt even drove the mx3 yet so ill just get used to the new rims anyways. But yeah i dont know the offset. We will see. Thanks for the input.

personally I wouldnt go bigger than 17's although 15's are most practical on a GS/RS

just remember that the size isnt good, so speed given on the speedometer isnt 100% accurate...

normally with 18inch you need 225x35 tires....

Yeah i know, the tires only have like 65% tread left so they will be needing changed. I already planned on putting 35's. Give me some more clearence as well.

I've Got 18's on mine with 215/35/18 tires that is actually as close to stock size as you an get with unstock wheels. All you need to do now is make sure the rims you are getting are the correct offset and you'll be good to go

Yea I am with trevor on this one 215-40-18 is best for 18's.... I have 215-45-17 and they rub the fender splash shield when I make a tight turn.... and it comes EXTREMLLY close the the shock tower in the rear, Then again I am dropped 2 inchs I am surprised you got 225 on there!

I like the way 18s look, on a lowered MX-3, but don't like hw they feel.

OK, DBrooks47315 sold the car to a friend of mine and the wheels do look good but man there's very minimal clearance with 18s so I advised my friend to give me the wheels :) and I'd give them 4 stock mags with good rubber. That's fair isn't it.
