KLZE versus K8 4k rpm kick

I know I need to buy a MDS system for my VRIS but I was wondering. My k8 had that kick at 4,000 rpm but my ZE dosen't seem to have that kick. I does accelerate smoothly no problem there but should I be feeling a kick at any particular RPM?

What ecu are u using..

kl31/36 on a ze will have the wrong vris points. If you get a chipped k8 ecu then the points will be back

You should still get a kick in the 4000rpm range even with those ECU's

Yeah, you should feel something. Mine's built for lower RPM torque, and kicks @ about 3,500.

With the stock 96 ECU and the curved neck intake my lower VRIS is on the money but the higher range is out by about 1,000 RPM from what I've been told. I plan on hooking up a dwell meter and checking it for myself. The VRIS is moving so I know it's servicable. I'll give it another go tomorrow. I thought the old Cat may be causing too much restriction. I did however just pass the emissions check under Hot Rod staus.

hmmm I get a small kick at around 4k then a big kick at 5k its wierd but makes for fun driving. If your not getting a noticable increase in power at either of those rpms then I reccommened checking your vris because it sounds like it is not engaging.

OK I swaped in a KL02 VAF and redid my Idle and now when I shift I have to back off on the gas or the crap MX-6 clutch will slip. I notice a kick now a around 5,000rpm on through. Because it's a 96 the KL02 is recommended. I just didn't want to swap too soon. I wanted to set the engine as best as possible with the JE50 then try the 02. I'm thinkin window switches will do the trick by restoring my VRIS points.
