Engine noise

I am from Portugal and i have recently adquired a MX3, but i am a little concerned about a metallic noise it makes when i start the engine when it is cold and it gets away when engine is hot!
Can someone tell me what this could be???

have someone start the car for you, while you go listen in the engine bay for where its coming from. does it sound like metal on metal scraping or like a valve clatter sound?..

It could be the water pump. My engine is making the same type of sound.

Could he may be talking about the HLA's? If so.. welcome to MX-3
