MX-3's float!

So I live in Florida and we have been getting ridiculous amounts of rain lately. The roads are usually pretty flooded so there are some good sized puddles to drive through.
Well today was exceptionally bad. I was on my way home from work taking my normal route and the rain was just not letting up. I take back roads to and from work so there usually aren't that many cars. I go around this one turn and see a bunch of cars, trucks, and semi's pulled over on the side of the road. Before I knew it my car drops quite a bit into a huge puddle? So I decide I am going to take a different route because this one is flooded.
Well....I was already too far in, lol. I hit my brakes and nothing happens, I give it a little gas and nothing happens. I try to turn off to the side of the road like the rest of the cars and what happens??? NOTHING! So I soon feel water coming in through my firewall and dripping on my feet and on the passenger side carpet. I then realize that my car isn't on the ground anymore BUT I am slowly floating forward.
It took me about 5 or so minutes to float across this puddle but I finally made it to the other side. I'm sure it looked pretty strange to the people who were pulled over on the side of the road.
So if a flash flood ever occurs, forget running up to the roof or getting in a boat. Just hop in your MX-3 and float away in comfort, lol.
On a side note though...my headlights have water in them now and my car has a wonderful smell to it.
