hey got a little bit of a problem. had a 03 camshaft position sensor. Went and got another disty. installed it, and got rid of the code, but now it wants to sputter and backfire like crazy at about 2500 rpm, and wont let me give it any more gas. Any help would be appreciated. thanks.

maybe the disty wasn't adjusted right? I'd say check the TPS, but since you did the swap, I don't think that would be an issue.

Manual transmission cars have a TPS as well.

but it wouldn't play as big of a factor, would it?

little bit of an update. i put it in limp mode, and adjusted the disty and got it to where it isn't doing the sputtering. I can't however get the idle right. i am getting it to idle about 1250. Somewhere i remember reading that the idle should be somewhere around 750. I know there is a screw on top of the throttle body, but everytime i adjust it, it dies. Car idles perfect in limp mode, and when you touch the throttle the cooling fans turn on, which makes me think the tps is in the right position. or am i wrong? Any ideas? another thing is that I am not sure that my vris is working correctly, is there a way to fix that or does anyone know? Thanks again in advance.
