it's what i believe to be a custom moonroof for the mx-3? i was under the impression that a moonroof never came with the car, only a sunroof available.

I want one. I'm going to try to replace mine with plexiglass, and take out the motor, and everything.

Would it be a terrible lot of work to do a DIY? I have no idea what it looks like under the roof panel.
And I like the rims on that Nissan in the background, there.

As far as i know, there never was. Which makes this find extra special, which means someone somewhere out there did all the custom work for me =P
it looks like its just a matter of fabricating the glass part, and just making it fit in the existing motor assembly. This particular one i found was a straight swap with my old sunroof, cuz it had the stock motor and everything. and as far as i know, there are no options to swap from other cars.
when i get my old sunroof (currently sitting in the back seat) back to my house+garage, i plan on taking a look at it, see what kinda work it would take to custom make one of these things.
Oh, and ive also been trying to imagine a way i can fit on some sort of sliding cover/door to cover the glass when/if you dont want to use it, like you see on more traditional moonroofs on cars. Driving in the daytime in san diego right now during summer hurts me eyes..

"Use Lexan

I'm sure I will. I was just using Plexiglass as a general term. Lexan is more available, and is just a different brand name for the same thing.

Dude, does your landlord hate you?
I did a clutch swap in my downtown parking garage once. My landlord went berzerk.
