just a quick question for anyone that might have any info on this

on mx3.com in the gallery theres an rx7 with mx3 hatch. would it be possible to do the reverse? has anyone ever tried? could that be a solution to the weight issue of the oem hatch? or even could a cf version of the rx7 hatch fit? i noticed someone on the forum has bought an rx7 but i cant remeber who...

thanks for the reply.. i have already searched before and after posting but none of the threads had anything to do with the second part of my question which was about the cf hatch available for the rx7. maybe i should have explained my question differently. also i was hoping for a reply from the guy who got an rx7 who could give a good comparison having owned both cars. also none of those threads ever reached a solid conclusion on whether the swap to the oem rx7 hatch is an answer to the weight issue or if any kind of significant weight reduction can be achieved. Thanks and sorry for the long post

It's a reasonable request, and i'm interested in the answer.
It didn't seem like backtalking to me

I dont see why a Rx-7 CF hatch would be any different than the OEM Rx-7 hatch...the CF hatch if suppose to fit like the OEM hatch, so the result would be the same.

It's been discussed many, many, many times, however, no one has ever confirmed how well an Rx-7 hatch would fit on an Mx-3

So it do it and tell us how hard it was :P THe guy who bought a rx7 recently is Illa Killa. Though it'd be hard to tell without them side by side, measuring etc...

I'd photoshop first if I were you

I have a feeling that a Lexan window would be much cheaper, and maybe lighter..
But if you were Bill Gates, and got the CF RX-7 one with a Lexan window... That would be awesome. But for the price, there's LOTS of other stuff I'd do first.

Cjthor looked into it, and they are out of production, but they'll make one for $600. Maybe we can do a GB. He has done GB's before, with no problems.
