I want to start saving money for some new rims ... but i have a funny taste :
Ok, first thing, i am not only after the looks ... because i really love big rims on MX3, but that's not the only thing i want
On the other hand, i dont want to lose my performance with some oversized rims, since the K8 isnt the stringest engine around :confused2:

Ok ...
15" = good performance , bad looks
16" = average performance , average looks
17" = minimum performance , good looks
18" = worst performance , great looks

Now, after the size... there is the weight
The lightest 16" rims around are these =
Image
but they are not that good looking
Do you guys know a brand that offers really lightweight rims for our car... and 16" ??

It's too bad that German company doesn't make the carbon fiber rims this small. Not that anyone would pay the $15,000 for them, anyway. They would be about 8 lbs.

RPF1 are some of the lightest cast rims. 16s are at 13.5 lbs. Though they will set you back a grand.

Anything lighter than that is gonna be forged (like Volk or SSR) and will cost a lot more.

And imo 15s look fine, if you got the right rims. The car is pretty small, so small rims don't look too bad. Racing 15s usually have quite a bit of a lip that makes the wheel look about an inch bigger than it actually is. Plus, when people look at your weels and see 15s, they know you're about performance, while when they look at see 18s, they laugh.

16s are probably the best trade-off, though.

if you get the RPF1 in 15s they weight 9lbs i do believe, and i think they look fine @ 15, and besides any one with RPF1's on there car, well they basically mean business :)

There are better priced wheels that are of equal quality. When you buy Volks, some of the price is paid for the brand name. They're a bit of status symbol. I mostly see Volks on expensive cars driven by some snooty jocks with rich parents. Don't really see them so much at the actual circuit. :D

Yeah, forged wheels can be quite light while remaining durable, if done right, since the metal is denser and stronger, so you can have less of it.
