Ok so i bought a clutch from a member here.. sure the clutch performs awesome under no boost. when im like at 4 psi this crap slips.. WTF.. this is a next to new clutch... does it need to be broken in or something? the dude used it for around less than 1000 miles.... the disk is stamped excedy.. i feel ripped off :/ Im not about to take this crap appart again to change the clutch :/ wtf! :/ The pressure plate reads act but the disk reads excedy :/

the clutch pedan is nice and hard... wth man!

I personally never liked ACT clutches... I stand by my Clutchmasters...a lil extra money, but well worth it.

There is a break in period... but after 1000 miles it should be fine. Sounds like your just making more power than it can handle unfortunately. It's also possible that the previous owner didn't break it in properly and glazed it.

did you re surface your flywheel?

its kinda like when you do valve train, you cant mix old with new parts. Give it some time for groves to form in the clutch and flywheel, its probably slipping because either you didnt resuface your flywheel or both surfaces havnt worn into eathother.

Maybe its possible your got grease on the flywheel?

I run a kevlar ACT, non button clutch. Flywheel is unorthodox racing aluminum with the kevalr inserts. It grips like a crocodile.

update.. well i checked and its been around 3 miles since install so i assume it slips bcause of that/ I removed the turbo and it will slip if i try to burn out.. i guess not a good idea? ill break it in for 300 miles as act recommends.. but if not well im screwed and new clutch time again.

I have an act clutch rated for 230ft/lbs, it slipped a tiny bit for the 1st while but only at 15psi on my bpt now it grips (and that's a tiny f trans clutch!). Clutches are like brakes they need to bed in.

BTW my act disk said act, exedy is oem.

bleh.. it slips when i go to the drags, its NOT an act clutch. The seller (WagZE) Gave me an excedy disk and an ACT pressure plate. Its my fault for installing it and not b!tching about it sooner. Oh well my loss. Im replacing it ina while . Im gonna run it down until it just doesnt go.
