a quick cheap paint repair.******

Post by se7en »

Okay, I don't know how many people know this, but you can buy a custom filled spray can filled with your factory paint.

I have used them on many occasions, and it always turns out pretty good. It helps to buy some spray bomb clear coat also...

I bought mine at an autobody supply store. And if anyone needs a can sent to them, I can get them for $25.00

I repainted the whole front end of my car(white) because the previous owner thought it would be a great idea to but a bra on it, and it 'yellowed' the paint underneath. Most people can't even tell. Which is pretty good considering I have tried those canadian tire paint chip color matching stuff before, and it turned out like crap.

I highly recommend it a a quick fix to any paint related issues. It works best with factory colors though because the computer mixes it for me.

cheers.

Question. I have the creek blue mica, it has a metallic fleck in it... can you still get this?
I'm wanting to put on my ms front bumper and would like to avoid the primer look if poss. It will be getting a proper paint job later. Ya gotta make it go b4 you make it show.

I might be PMing you also sometime in the near future, if that is cool? :)
I have some fading, and would rather try this, until I am ready for a full car paint job.

You can also get a painting system from auto paint places that uses a glass res with CO2 refill pressure cans. I used one to do my bike and it works great. I paid $12.00 for the kit and then $4 a piece for the refills. For interior jobs and touch ups it is really nice.

You can buy factory paint from almost any Auto body store.

Also, if your going to do this you should know how to prep first. Using sealer would help aswell

well, of course, that is obvious. rough up the surface with 800-1500 grit sandpaper, and use wax and grease remover to get any and all wax and contaminants off the surface.

Not too much to it though, and mine is holding up great.

Ya, I hear ya, but for those that want a different color, and don't want to take any chances, I can get exact factory matching paint.
