Hi!
my jap mazda mx3 just broke down and i've been finding it very hard to find the part it needs. The car is a 1992 AZ3 1.5 DOHC and my mechanic said that the metal pipe connected to the back of the water pump is leaking due to corrosion. Does anybody no the proper name of this pipe or the part number or where to buy it? Would i be able to use the same metal pipe from a 1.8 mx3?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!

Description from mechanic:
coolant pipe from the back of the water pump running across the front of the block under the exhaust manifold
Diameter = roughly 1cm

Sorry can't help with the naming of the part, and unfortunately North American spec cars didn't come with the 1.5 engine....., however the 1.5 (B5 i think?) is found in the Mazda 323/Familia and Ford Laser, so getting parts shouldn't be a problem. I guess you're in NZL? if so, try mazparts on Trademe, they should be able to sort you out.

Hi Aston,
Thanks for the quick reply and your advice! So if i cant get it as a mazda mx3 part, i can get it from a different mazda or ford lazer? I'm from Ireland not NZL unfortunatley so i guess i'll have to look elsewhere for the part. It's just hard to look on the internet for a part that has no name! :wink:

Hi
Yeah i was thinkin i could find the part in a scrap yard but i was told that i had to get a new part because one from a scrap yard might be rusted to!
I'm living in Dublin at the moment.

You are bound to get one in better nick than your own.
Part of your coolants job is to inhibit rust,

i wouldn't bother with a new one, a new anything from mazda and you would
need a credit union loan
(mazda wanted 750 Euro for a new distributor i got it in a scrappy for 100,
the car is only worth that much)

Im working in dublin
