gauge needles

while changing my gauge faces 2 needles poped out the fuel and the temp how do i put them back in so they work
with great difficulty

Take full tank and let engine to calm down completely and you will now gauge for temp is at the lowest position and for fuel is on the highest position. 
No, joking, I think it can be calibrated somehow, I heard about it, but didn't do it myself.
