Got a new toy :D:D:D:D (1980's RX-7 5 Spd turbo)

Post by Dark_Rider2k3 »

i am so excited!!!

It needs a new carburetor, but that's it.

Only 1 rust spot and it's tiny

Now I just need to look up stuff on it so I can hopefully get it ready so I can eventually race her!

Also wanted to say hey to everyone. I haven't been on here in some time (girlfriend keeps me busy).

I was going to get the whole cat-back exhaust off an mX3'er on the forums, but I ran into serious transmission problems. Luckally my dad helped me out, but no, I didn't do the swap yet (he said if he was going to help me get it fixed he wanted an auto, and it wasn't my money soo.. i took any help i could cuz I needed her running).

Other then that nothing else has been done to the car except for a cool "mazdaspeed" sticker I put on the front windshield.

Oh, and if your reading this (about the cat-back), I still want it (but if you sold it i understand cuz well.. i haven't been quick to buy)

Well just saying hey

Congratulations! I had a Gen II in Hawai'i. Did lots of drifting... not on purpose. I think drifting is silly, but the roads were very windy, and wet, and I drive fast. Great balanced car!

Good pickup but is it an FB or FC? If its carbureted its gotta be an FB but its turbo?? Must be a beast. Good luck, I got an FD and I love her.

You sure that 67,000 is miles and not gallons of rust enhancer dumped in the engine bay?

Nice deal, but you have some work to do there! Good luck and have fun!

Well the project took a big dump....

it seemed great, but I don't really know now if I want to sink money into it.. and I'm finding a lot of RX-7's in great condition for less then 3,000 dollars.

So yeah.. I may just sell it for parts..

I know this really annoying guy who has that gen of Rx7 (non turbo) and its a peice of s---, I'm sure he could use lots of your parts :) He thinks its the bomb, and my mx is gay, but at least my car doesn't backfire loud enough to wake the dead, have a shot tranny, engine, and entire suspension system....

But hey, its a rotary. and RWD.
