the beast has finally.......died

Well to make a long story short i finally had the inevitable ZE retainer break problem (after 3 years of driving the beast hard as hell everyday) which leads to the valve dropping down the cylinder and making a nice mess. I would put pics up but im sure u guys all seen enough of those already.

But as for some stats on how it ran well my best time with it was a 13.8 at 101.75 mph and i hit a top speed of 144 mph at 7500rpm which is way past redline..... the engine was stock with just headers, intake, and the external coil/module mods it also had some shitty ebay coilovers and garbage 14" tires.

Now the best part and my newest mod was my 3" electric cutout setup right off the headers (yes before the cat), which really really woke the engine up and too top it off made it the badest sounding car around ( i will make some sound clips for u guys when i get my new engine). It gave me .5 in the 1/4 mile and gave me TONS more topend.....was it a good idea to take it past redline all the time .... hell no but thats ok good things cant last forever right.

So my next engine most likely will be a stock probe engine with my cams and manifold on it soo it wont be a whole lot slower for now and if i get bored enough i still have my lil t3 sitting on the shelves or my NOS bottle sitting there as well i can play with......

Is this something where you press a button and the normal exhaust path moves out of the way and lets the exhaust out quicker (and substantially louder) :?:

well pretty much cept u hold down the switch for about 2 secs then u get a nice screaming loud car as well as a very nice speed increase. It truly is a very fun mod

Sorry it's dead, but, that's good longevity for that use.
I drove to the auto parts store with only headers when I broke the cat bolt. it's awesome.
I'm designing a manual, cable actuated exhaust cut-out that won't inhibit the flow when closed.
13.8 is great!
