Hi Everyone,

I was wondering if anyone knew what a flashing check engine light means. My engine light had been on since I bought it, but it was only a low EGR reading, which wasn't a big deal, and didn't want to replace until I had to, due to the high quote I got for replacement on a new EGR. Yesterday, when I started the car the light started flashing. Anyone have any thoughts? By the way, it was extremely cold outside, and I hadn't driven it all weekend. It is a 96 GS V6.

Jump GND to TEN in your diag box under the hood with the car OFF.
Put the car in the ON position and DO NOT START THE CAR.

Count the blinks.. those are the code numbers (double digits)

Check the online manual for their meanings.

It was the EGR still. Not sure why it started to flash. IN any case the flashing has stopped altogether. Now the pain of replacing the EGR begins
