Hi,

First of all, i used the search ^^ ...
My Question is, what are the strongest drive shafts for the bpt engine ? I found out that ford escort gt, protege lx would match and customizing the gtr ones would be also possible ? Also what jack shaft/axles shall i take ?

thx 4 answers.

A good search would get you your answers...

You can use the Protege LX, Mercury Tracer, Ford Escort GT (all twin cam BP engines) axles and half/shafts. I wouldn't bother using any of the 4wd axles. The first 3 cars are so much easier to get parts from and the axles are a good design for moderate power levels.

From what I can remember, you'll destroy the transmission before you come close to damaging the axles...

F-series transmission can handle up to 200 hp or so.
G-series transmission can handle up to 300 hp or so.

Of course, there's also a high chance I'm horribly wrong, in which case, disregard this post >_>

How much torque are you planning to make with the engine? Is it going to be street driven or heavily launced at the drag strip? Stock axles will be in most cases fine for a street car. If you want my opinon, stick with stock axles for a turbocharged BP. I've personally been using stock Protege axles for over 4yrs making anywhere btwn 200-260 ftlbs torque. I bought my axles used from Mazmart and have not had any issues yet. I hope that answers your question.

Questions concerning Drive Shafts/Axles belong in the Transmission forum not the 4cyl engine forum
