Need help asap my baby

Post by havoc13 »

So i have tried to use the search function to find more info about my problem with my car so i have a 92 GS that i got a klze put into it and so i went to a shop in Teknotik to get some tuning of my ecu i went out and bought a proper probe ecu out of a 94 GT so right now it has a klze chip in it to make it think that its the proper ecu and i m running the je50 vaf so since we put this chip in its had a cel on when i was running with the k8 setup i was getting a cel we were just assuming it was an o2 sensor i was told something about an extra or a missing sensor in the coolant tank and today i actually had a problem with my coolant was boiling today basically and now its sitting in a shop near my house please please give me some advice

so.... what? so....

so I better throw in another so for good measure.

I'm having difficulty understanding your problem. Its overheating? do you have a proper mix of antifreeze? Are your fans working?

The point I'm trying to make is that it's very difficult to understand what your problem is. If you spoke like that to someone in person,(using no pauses or anything) they'd look at you sideways. If you're gonna be a snot about it, I won't try to help you.

Good luck.

Should i put it in point form so u can understand?

-own a 92 GS
-valve seals on gs were going on k8 so swapped in ZE
-Teknotik tried to chip my k8 ECU but it wasnt running right
-found a 94 Probe GT at wreckers
-Teknotik chipped this ecu to make it think its a ZE ecu
-its had the check engine light on since i plugged the chipped ecu
-i left it idling outside and i came back and there was steam blowing out of the hood
- the coolant was boiling

You need to troubleshoot why your car overheated. I don't think it has anything to do with the ecu, but it would be nice to know what code is being stored by the ecu.

Start with the simple causes for overheating:
- low coolant - find and fix leak
- radiator fan not working - maybe due to bad coolant temp sensor or bad fan ...
- low flow through radiator due to clogging
- water pump siezed

Good luck

I'd also worry about the water pump as well.

The ECU shouldn't make it overheat, I wouldn't think. Then again, some strange things do happen with the K series.

Make sure your thermostat isn't stuck shut, I suppose that'd be an easy step.

along with this the simplest would be to check/replace thermostat and make sure you have the right mixture of coolant/antifreeze, and something even simpler - have you replaced your radiator caps? if they fail you can lose all of your coolant in a short period by it vaporizing.

are there any coolant leaks under the car or anywhere?
