Today i was driving and i slowly going down a street when it felt like something hit the bottom of my car, i thought it was my bodykit that fell off but when i reach a stop sign to check it out my car wouldn't drive as if the tranny just broke. Then i tried to rev it and the car smoked up. So i pushed it over to the side of the road and i found a big trail of Oil and what seemed like Tranny Oil and in the middle of the street i found this part,

Could anyone tell me what this part is...
How much roughly this will cost me...
And how screwed i am...

Thanks.

ouch, that looks like differential gears.

time for a new tranny.

the mtx ones cost about $100 in an autowrecker.

sorry about your loss.

Yup, time for another trans. The differential has come apart and likely has blown a hole through the trans.

That's exactly what happened to my Escort GT, put a huge hole in the tranny.
