Hi Everyone ,
Recently bought a 94 MX-3 with 140k miles ,automatic 1.6L engine , somehow engine oil is leaking and dropping into the exhaust manifold ,anyone had that before and importantly any solution to it !! I have already replaced the valve cover gasket thinking that this might be the problem but didnt help.

When you replaced the valve cover gasket. Did you use gasket sealant? I know on both my Mx's that on the left lower corner, it leaks like a MF. And leaks down on the Alt. It's clean as a whistle with the sealant.

I don't see why a leaking Valve Cover could get engine oil into the exhaust manifold, a leaking valve cover would just pour the oil out in the engine bay or in the spark plug holes
maybe it's a sticking valve or something ?

i have the same prob and i am looking at doing a head gaskit to car
? is it smokeing badly from the tail pipe ? if it is i would say you need to look at doing a headgaskit and valve job ..

You could buy a Compression gauge, and test the compression on the engine, they are pretty cheap, I payed 25$ for mine, and I'm from Denmark, so in the states it's properly a lot less
and it's really easy to test, just disconnect the Distributer and remove all the spark plugs, and screw the gauge in and crank the engine
