Every time I try to upload my picture in my signature it keeps saying "It was not possible to determine the dimensions of the image." Its the same picture Ive been using. I just wanted to add a link to my feedback thread and it went gay.

here is the link to the picture

Hey someone take your signature pic out of your sig, submit it, then try to reupload it. I cant get mine to seem to want to upload again...same picture I had. It was a pixel car...but now It keeps saying "It was not possible to determine the dimensions of the image." Ive posted a topic in the issues section I just wanted to see if Im on crack and have forgotten how to do this or other people are having the same issue.

["img"]http://i51.photobucket.com/albums/f387/ ... -GS-SE.jpg["/img"]

(I know to not use the quotes in there I just did that to show how I did it and that hopefully Im not an idiot)

I can get it to show in a post but not as apart of my sig

Strange. With a bit of testing, it looks like existing signatures show the images properly, but any new images added to signatures, give the error message.

The webhost did make a change recently to our server settings, I will have to look into this a bit more and see if it is related. I'll post back when I know more.

I am having the same issue...

I have tried putting in my new sig a ton of times and I get that same message, then it defaults to the previous sig which is not working.

Jackal wrote:[heading]Problem[/heading]When posting images to the board or trying to use images in your signature you get the message
It was not possible to determine the dimensions of the image

[heading]Cause[/heading]This is nearly always down to the host disabling the allow_url_fopen function in the php.ini
[heading]Solution[/heading]You need to open the php.ini and make sure this function is allowed, if not allow it and restart the server. It has been known for this function to be disabled in two places in the php.ini so you will need to double check it is not enabled in one place and disabled in another, For example, first with "disable_functions allow_url_fopen" and then a second time with "allow_url_fopen Off".

Also if you can use cURL here is a quick work around provided by Jhong
A quick workaround is to use cURL to fetch the image and check the size. The mod is as follows:

OPEN: /includes/message_parser.php

FIND:

Code: Select all

            if ($stats === false)
            {

AFTER, ADD:

Code: Select all

                if (function_exists('curl_exec'))
                {
                    $c_img = curl_init();
                    $c_timeout = 8; //The timeout, in seconds. You may want to change this
                    $c_max_filesize = 64000; //The max file size loaded into memory
                    curl_setopt($c_img, CURLOPT_URL, $in);
                    curl_setopt($c_img, CURLOPT_RETURNTRANSFER, 1);
                    @curl_setopt($c_img, CURLOPT_BUFFERSIZE, $c_max_filesize);
                    curl_setopt($c_img, CURLOPT_CONNECTTIMEOUT, $c_timeout);
                    curl_setopt($c_img, CURLOPT_FOLLOWLOCATION,1);
                    $grabbed_img = @curl_exec($c_img);
                    curl_close($c_img);
                    $stats[0] = $stats[1] = false;
                    if ($grabbed_img)
                    {
                        $grabbed_img = @imagecreatefromstring($grabbed_img);
                        $stats[1] = @imagesx($grabbed_img);
                        $stats[0]= @imagesy($grabbed_img);
                        unset($grabbed_img, $c_img);
                    }
                    if (!$stats[0] || !$stats[1])
                    {
                        $stats = false;
                    }
                }
            }
            if ($stats === false)
            {

Save the file, and the problem should go away. I've tried hard to choose settings in order to prevent the server loading ahuge image into memory by accident, but it may need some tweaking.
