OBX Camber Bolts
I ordered the OBX bolts off of ebay. Service was excellent, and they shipped quickly. That's the good news.
I installed the ZX-2 Tokico's and Mx-3 H&R's a few days ago, and none of the stupid bolts would fit through any of the holes in the steering knuckles. I used WD-40 and various other methods to clean out the holes, and they seemed pretty clean. The large lobe part of the bolts just didn't want to go in. Tried hammering with a rubber mallet, impact gun, etc. Nothing worked.
I just ended up putting the original bolts back in.
I don't know if they sent me the wrong ones, or if my steering knuckles are a different size, or the tolerances on the bolts are too high, or what. I guess this is just a warning to anybody considering ordering these. Maybe other people have had better results with them. IDK.

Re: OBX Camber Bolts
So your saying your camber bolts won't fit on your ZX-2 Tokico's strut holes? Did you buy Mx-3 bolts, or Escort bolts? Camber bolts don't just slip through. Because of the middle part, you have to adjust them. What I do is put the camber bolt on the top, stick a screwdriver on the bottom hole. Then you can adjust the spindle/strut a little for the camber bolt.

Re: OBX Camber Bolts
No. What I'm saying is the bolts won't fit into the steering knuckle holes period. They fit fine through the strut's holes. The camber bolts I got are for the MX-3. They physically will not fit into the holes on the steering knuckle/spindle.
Rephrasing what I just said. If you were to take a cutting torch and hack off the steering knuckles/spindles from my car, and try to insert these camber bolts into the holes, no struts whatsoever in the picture, the bolts would not go through the holes. Like I said, tried rubber mallet, impact gun, cleaning holes, etc.

Re: OBX Camber Bolts
I have 2 sets of these camber bolts on 2 different mx-3's. I've never heard of this issue.
well there are 2 possible explanations:
1. they sent you the wrong ones
2. You have different spindles on your mx-3. Did you try them on the front AND the back? the reason I ask is maybe this will prove your front spindles ARE different from normal mx-3's.

Re: OBX Camber Bolts
Yeah... I tried each different bolt at each different corner, none of them worked. This is the only info I can find on this issue, it's a thread where Gro Harlem describes the same problem. Check out his third post.

Re: OBX Camber Bolts
can you send them back? maybe buy the generic ones off ebay?
were they not fitting due to casting issues like little metal lips on the elliptical part of the bolt? could you dremel them down a little?
I'm just kind of surprised cause mine work great...

Re: OBX Camber Bolts
Mehh...it's only 30 bucks. I guess I'll just suck it up as a lesson learned, and buy the Eibach ones or something. I don't plan on going for an alignment for a couple weeks anyways, after I change my balljoints. My camber doesn't seem that bad, maybe I won't need them. I don't know.

Re: OBX Camber Bolts
muahahhaa I am messing with your head haha I did not have a previous avatar only a signature...
anyways the reason I have the camber bolts in is when I go to the alignment shop I want them to be able to adjust it as correctly as possible. Having the bolts in just gives them another way to adjust it! I am not a fan of wearing out tires prematurely if I can prevent it...

Re: OBX Camber Bolts
I've been running my Eibach/ZX2 combo for a couple months now and the alignment is quite good. You can tell that the camber is not perfect, bit its in no way "bad". If I was going any lower though, I'd spring for camber plates.

Re: OBX Camber Bolts
I don't know how it was done but I use to use obx camber bolts with my MX3 but I took it to a place called larry auto in pompano florida and when they redid my alignment they aligned it just fine without even using camber bolts and my car is LOW. I guess if you just go to the right place anything is possible
