ok,im going to try and clean up the look of my engine bay tomorrow but im clued as to how im going to make my valve covers as fresh as they did when new,so im not doing any painting just don't want to look at the oxidation on them anymore i just want a nice smooth finish!
anyone here did this before, how, which products to use etc?
ty in advance
A dremel is better, but sandpaper is good enough to look alright.
I dunno what grade to suggest, depends on what kinda finish you're after, i just used some fine stuff i had laying around home, that was maybe 5yrs ago and its still alright
i just took a grinding wheel to mine last night and they look better than they ever have. after that get a bit of degreaser and a scouring pad. hose it off and you are good to go
92' GS KLDE, Cosmo Racing UDP, CAI, AWR Motor mounts solid, Pheno spacers . interior gutted, MTX Swap, unorthodox racing flywheel/ 4 paddle clutch. short shifter, SRD bushings, brembo cross-drilled rotors, corksport racings red stainless steel lines. megan escort springs, zx2 sturts, whiteline rear sway bar, rear strut bar.
right now im think about a wire wheel attached to a drill to clean them .it's now warm enough for me to tackle this job! will report back with the results!
I'm interested, because I'm restoring a classic sport Mercedes, and it's got an oxidized all aluminum V8.
I'd like to know if the wire wheel leaves swirlies.
