Mazdaspeed seats opinion needed

Post by Q »

I'm thinking about buying some new seats for the mx-3 since the hold ones are falling apart and I found these ones for sale on a local forum.
I've been trying to find information about the seats but I cant seem to find anything out about mazdaspeed seats even when I google it. I also know that corksport use to sell them but they no longer list them on the website.

Now my question is are these real mazdaspeed seats?
The seller says they are leather and are brand new, never used, never installed. He is also asking $400cdn. for both.

Here are two pictures of one of the seats:

I was thinking that too but I don't want some cheap seat that's all dressed up where the frame might break because it was so poorly made.

I have the same seats sitting in my garage. The quality is awesome for those who may think differently. They are knock-offs, but for the price, they are very nice seats. If I dont use them, they will go very well in my game room as racing-sim seats :)
Problem is seat rails.. I would like to know if you do/how get them to work.

The rails that come with them will not work, your seat rails will not bolt up nor will the holes line up. You may have to make adapters.

Also, I didnt pay $400, I paid ~ 300USD shipped.

Will the mazdaspeed seat rails from CorkSport bolt up to these seats?

One of my buddies with a Protege has a pair of the "knock-off" Mazdaspeed seats. He was telling me that the seats were more of a hassle rather than a steal. The seats sit several inches lower than the stock seats which means less visibility (unless if you have a large torso). The main problem that he has ran into was that the brackets that he got were absolute garbage. They broke on him several weeks after he installed the seats.

My advice, call Corksport and ask if they sell any brackets that will fit the seats that you want to buy. If Corksport doesn't have anything, do what Custommx3 is doing and make a Bad A-- gaming chair

very nice seats. If you have problems with the rails just cut your mx3 ones off and weld them on, alot more sturdy and you know they will fit! be careful when welding around the seats, dont wanna burn any holes.. but the nice seats!

I have a set of seats like the ones in question, when they get put on they sit about 1/2 inch higher then stock. Well for people with large legs it sucks. Escort aftermart seat rails are the same as the mx-3

Thanks for all you input fellows but I didn't get the seats. I contacted the seller and told him I had the money and he said he would hold the seats for me and then I asked him if he had proof that they were mazdaspeed seats because I thought they were knock-offs and he said yes so we agreed to meet later so I could see them and pick them up. Anyways he called me a few hours later and said he would not sell them to me and all of a sudden he claims they are now sold.
