Does anyone know what the compression should be?

Escort gt smokes when cold. I blame valve seals but then again engine is way to old. Its been trough hell. I actually rebuilt the head around 2 years ago. The pistons and chambers looked new back then. This must have been around 30 thousand miles ago or more.. we drive her alot. Compression test revealed even numbers. I forgot what it was.. i think 160 all across. I forgot. I need to retest.

I just need what the stock compression is for the BP 1.8 engine.

Anything above 160 and within a 20% tolerance is good. The BP engines compression ratio is 9 to 1 and the BPT is 8.2 to 1. Try doing a wet test the next time you check the compression.
