from what I understand, you don't have to mod the x-member, and you use the stock manifolds.(way less time to install!)

hmm, too bad I find this out AFTER I ordered my hot pipes from ebay!

sheesh.

ps, what do you all think of this? I think it would be a easier and faster way of getting turbo'ed. sh!t I wish I knew this a month ago.

our engine bays are still a bit different.. our radiators sit to close to the engine. those pipes seem they would hit the radiator.

ya, with my luck, I am sure they would ;)

I sure damn wish that my hot pipes would get here!

grr, tracking says it is in vancouver,bc and has been since november 14.

grrr. stupid customs people.

I hope they didn't lose them, that would be great. :(

The stock manifolds would be the weak point ,
1 they are very restrictive
2 they are cast , prone to cracking
3 They aren't shiny

maybe.... but it would be a cheaper and faster way to get boost I think.

I will be happy enough with my ebay pipes though I think, if they would ever get here!!!!!!!!!!!

Cheaper ? EH ,, yeah maybe until your manifold cracks and you run lean.
You will be happy like everyone else when they get here , who'd you order them from ?

ya, I guess ;)

I bought them from "just-intercoolers" on ebay.

the pipes are still sitting in customs, but they said if they take longer than 45 days, they will ship another set at no cost to me.

45 days is still less time than the people in the bulk buy had to wait ;)

I had a problem with just intercoolers , they had a auction for a golf turbo kit ,they never shipped it to me , and i ended up just getting a refund ...

Yeah I was in the bulk buy ... Not a fun experience .

what is? the just-intercoolers stuff? or the new turbo pipe design?

because I would be sad if I ordered junk that won't work at all. :(

by the way, I am almost done my turbo swap.

the 1/2" oil drain back is on and plugged for now, I have all the gauges installed, except the wideband o2 bung, and I have everything else ready for when the pipes show up.

what the hell. I hate customs.

grr.

looks like a cheap setup to me, but then again what do i know the "big dogs" on probetalk apparently think its a good system, though it goes against what corky bell says
