I was tracing a trans fluid leak on my driveway and noticed that my RS has an aftermarket transmisison cooler that the transmission lines run to instead of into the radiator like I think it should...

SHould the lines run into the stock radiator?

I belive my lines that run to that cooler are leaking, is it OK to just jump across and skip cooling the trans fluid for a week or so? (~75-80 degree ambiant temp)

It doesnt appear that my stock radiator's transmission loops have ever been used. How would you guys go about testing if the loops leak?

I don't want to overheat this trans, and I dont want to mix trans fluid and coolant.

Kind of an old post, but I'm hoping you didn't skip any cooler on your auto tranny. I doubt it would live too long with no way of cooling the fluid.

If the lines to the transmission cooler integrated with the radiator have been open (not capped) then I would spray some Kooler Klean fluid thru it before connecting transmission lines. Any little bit of dirt can really cause havoc with the solenoid valves in the valve body. You can get Kooler Klean at most auto part stores. It is intended to flush transmission coolers when a tranny overhaul has been performed and you don't want to get debris into the newly rebuilt tranny.
