front end vibration

Post by 94mxthree »

Hey everybody, new to this site, lot of information here, first off i did alot of searching for my problem and i couldent find a lot to point me in the right direction, well i just bought a 94 mx3 with the 1.6 dohc, and for the last week been giving it one heck of a tune up,it was neglected really bad, but the motor only has 123000 and it sounds good, now anyways lol, but last thursday i hit a curb on the right front and the right rear even went over it,and know i have a shimmy/vibration in the front end, it tends to happen when i hit 30 mph and sticks around till 40 mph but at highway speeds it feels fine, and its not making any noise when you turn sharp or turn period,i just get that shake between 30 and 40 mph anybody got any ideas what i did to the poor lil car,any help fellas thanks in advance.

well the tire in the front had a big bubble on the side wall after hitting it,but later that night i got all new tires, and the guy didn't have any problems balancing the tires and i don't know if the rim was bent or not,i would imagine it could of happened if it was able to bubble the tire.

i Hit a curb going pretty fast and i bent my 14" Momo's. They were aluminum rims and i had a vibration going above 70klph i switched to my winter steelies and the vibration went away.

You never know, the technition that ballanced your tires maybe was unable to to actually balance it but he said he did. I suggest to switch to rims that you know that are bent and go from there.

Ok i had to replace my tranny the other day,and upon doing that,my vibration has seemed to go away.So I'm guessing when i hit the curb i may of done something to my tranny. Just posting for future reference for others,oh btw mine tranny lost 3rd gear the the next day 4th gear was stuck in gear.Nobody could get it out,so a major malfunction went on in my tranny.

I hope not. That'd be pretty sad.

The Katamari song was playing. I saw a mailbox. It was smaller than me...it was instinct...
