I had givin the answer but my GF told me to try and give some clues...so....um. think electronics...thats really the best I can do with out giving it away.

Nope! Its electrons flowing in a circle inside of a vacuum tube due to the magnetic field of a solenoid around it. I did it in a physics lab. lol. Not to common thats why I figured no one would ever guess it.
