Log in lock

It's not something really important or anything, but its just a bit annoying. But everytime I go to another website and then come back to this one, i have to log back on. Even though I check to say to keep me logged on, it logs me off.
Is this due to the maintenance that was done?

Since the site has moved over to the new server or w.e I cannot stay logged in at all at work, I have to log into another site. I am not sure if you are at work, or have always had this issue but one thing you may want to check is to see if you are accepting cookies. That why when you specify you want to stay signed in your browser will remember.

Either at work or at home, it makes no difference.
The other website to which i want to stay logged on, keep me logged on. It's just this one.

Yea, now I am at home and I am having the same issue, may be because of the temporary server they are using ?

Found out 2 things..

1.) your bookmarking the old link.

http://forums.mx-3.com

That is the new one for now, untill we get some things converted/migrated.

2.) if you click the mx-3 image @ the top to return to the main page it will log you out. Thats because the page was linked to is a redirector.
Jeff has resolved that.

I am working on the issues.
Bookmarking http://forums.mx-3.com should solve your issues. try not to link directly to the temporary URl if you can.

Let me know if you still come across issues.

Thanks,

It still wont do the auto logon for me (in IE). I linked to the proper URL, deleted the temp files, cleared cookies (even the ones sitting on my table) - but no luck....

P.S. Firefox works fine.... but has 2 scroll bars....

Supposed to have 2 scroll bars.

Until we migrate fully to the new host (requires some recoding), Jeff has the forum in an iframe to keep it together with the site. Please bare with us while we work on getting the new site set up.

No pressure - i wasnt complaining - just letting you guys know whats going on.
Props for all he good work on the site - i know you guys do this on your spare time using your own money - i really appreciate that.

P.S.
Can you put a link to donate money with much higher visibility - most forums have ads after certain number of posts in every thread - since there are not that many ads here - i feel that there is nothing wrong in just making a donate to mx3.com link more visible .....

Another idea is to designate a very small monetary commission when a person makes more than 5 individual sales using this site? like 10 cents per sale or something like that -and they can pay up once they rack up more than a dollar balance - its too insignificant amount for the seller but might add up to support the site.....

Also, instead of having a phpbb search database why not make use of the google ajax api or custom search engine - http://www.google.com/coop/cse/ - i dont have much spare time right away but in the following weeks i might be able to help with that if you need help - i have not used ajax or done a custom search engine before - but it should be easy enough i think....

I was having a issue with the auto log in on 2 out of 3 computers I use to access this site. Using Firefox on all three. What I did that seems to have resolved this issue was to log back out and then log back in after I had already logged in once manually. Then I closed the site opened it back up and it all worked normally after that. I did delete the cookies on both browsers before doing that as well.

I myself am having the logout issue on my home computer.
My work laptop remains logged in as it should. I have not been able to pinpoint the issue, but it was happening before the migration so it is not the migration that caused it.

Both computers use IE7, and have all the latest patches installed.

We will continue to work on the issue and try to find a solution.

Thanks for your patience.

On a related note. When I try to log in with the [remember me] box checked it says I entered in an invalid user/password. Logging in without the box checked works fine.
